Abstract

En katalysatoraktivator spesielt tilpasset for anvendelse ved aktiveringen av metallkomplekser av metaller fra gruppe 3-10 for polymerisasjon av etylenisk umeltede polymeriserbare monomerer, spesielt olefiner, omfatter en zwitterionisk forbindelse som tilsvarer formelen: R4 \ V R2, eller ZR22 R4 YR2 VR2, hvor L+ er et protonert derivat av et element fra gruppe 15 i elementenes perio- diske system, og som i tillegg bærer to hydrokarbylsubstituenter med fra 1 til 50 karbonatomer hver, eller et positivt ladet derivat av et element fra gruppe 14 i ele- mentenes periodiske system, idet nevnte element fra gruppe 14 er substituert med tre hydrokarbylsubstituenter med fra 1 til 50 karbonatomer hver; R1 er en toverdig forbindelsesgruppe med fra 1 til 40 ikke-hydrogenatomer; R2 er uavhen- gig i hver forekomst en ligandgruppe med fra 1-til 50 ikke-hydrogenatomer, med det forbehold at R2 j et tilstrekkelig antall forekomster til å balansere ladning i for- bindelsen er L+-R1-; R4 er en brodannende hydrid- eller halogenidgruppe eller en toverdig forbindelsesgruppe med fra 1 til 40 ikke-hydrogenatomer; M1 er bor, aluminium eller gallium; Arf er uavhengig i hver forekomst en énverdig, fluorert, organisk gruppe inneholdende fra 6 til 100 ikke-hydrogenatomer; Y er et element fra gruppe 15; og Z er et element fra gruppe 14.
