Det er beskrevet en sjikttablett for kontrollert frigivelse av virksomt stoff i et flytende medium med minst en sjiktformig matriks som inneholder aktivt stoff og innbefatter kontaktflater for kontakt med det flytende mediet, som i det minste delvis innbefatter et dekksjikt som forsinker eller forhindrer frigivelsen av aktive stoffer, kjennetegnet ved at dekksjiktet er minst ett ytterligere lag påført på kontaktoverflater av den sjiktformige tidligere fremstilte matriks, eller matriksen er minst ett ytterligere lag påført på kontaktoverflaten av det sjiktformig, tidligere fremstilte dekklag, hvor det ytterligere laget påføres ved påpressing av pulverisert eller granulert materiale, med tykkelses- gradienter på den sjiktformig forfremstilte matriks eller det sjiktformig forfremstilte dekklaget.
