Abstract

Det er vist en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av utfelt kalsiumkarbonat (PCC) for anvendelse som pigment i papirbeleggingsblandinger. Fremgangsmåten omfatter trinnene (a) å karbonatisere et vandig kalk-inneholdende medium til å gi en vandig suspensjon av PCC, hovedsakelig i en valgt krystallform, (b) i det minste delvis avvanne den PCC-inneholdende suspensjon og (c) underkaste den PCC-inneholdende suspensjon findeling ved høyskjær-gnide-maling med et gnidemale-medium.Trinnene (b) og (c) kan utføres i enhver rekke-følge, dvs. (b) kan følges av (c) eller alternativt kan (c) følges av (b) .Awanningstrinnet (b) utføres fortrinnsvis under anvendelse av en trykkfilteranordning som arbeider med trykk på minst 5 MPa, fortrinnsvis minst 10 MPa.Et pH senkningstrinn kan utføres etter trinnene (b) og (c).Det er også vist pigmenter fremstilt ved fremgangsmåten og pigment og papirbeleggingsblandinger inn-befattende slike pigmenter.
