Abstract

Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en reaksjonslnjeksjonsstøpt kontaktllnse som Innbe- fatter: a) blande komponentene i en reaktlv blanding l en RIM- maskln under betingelser som er tilstrekkelige til å danne forløpere for et polyureanettverk og et poly- akrylsyrenéttverk, som under herdlngen danner et inter- penetrerende polymert nettverk, hvilken reaktlv blanding Innbefatter: I) en amlntermlnert kjedeforlenger bestående av en blanding av amlner, hvilke amlner er tilstede l den reaktlve blandingen l ca. 20 - 60 masse-56, II) et organisk dl-eller polylsosyanat tilstede l tilstrekkelige mengder til å reagere med den amlntermlnerte kjedeforlengeren, III) en akrylester som er tilstede l ca. 10 - 50 masse-# av den reaktlve blandingen og Iv) en fri radikal inltlator som er tilstede l tilstrekkelige mengder til å polymerlsere akryl- esteren og derfra danne et polyakrylnettverk. b) Injesere det flytende interpenetrerende polymernet- tverket i en lukket form i flytkommunikasjon med RIM- masklnen med et hulrom som definerer formen til kontaktllnse under betingelser tilstrekkelig til å danne gel-og herdevæsken. c) Fjerne produktet i (b) fra formen. d) Etterherde produktet fra (c). e) Nedsenke produktet fra (b) l vann eller et vanndig medium, Inntil det nås et likevekt, for å danne en kontaktlinse l form av en hydrogel.
