Abstract
Oppfinnelsen angår et apparat for å bestemme posisjonen til et mobilt kjøretøy i forhold til en fast stedsmerkeanordning som omfatter en spole energisert til å emittere et magnetfelt bestående av magnetiske flukslinjer som strekker seg radielt og buet fra endene på spolens lengdeakse. En sensor- enhet montert på det mobile kjøretøy består av fire identiske sensorspoler, som hver er følsom for frekvensen til merkeanordningen, og som hver har en hovedakse. Disse sensorspolene er understøttet i to par, med hovedaksene til sensorspolene for hvert par plassert på hver side av et felles sentralt plan, slik at det strekker seg parallelt med dette, hvor et felles sentralt plan strekker seg transversalt til lengdeaksen for merkeanordningens spole. Hvert par av sensorspoler er anordnet i et X-mønster i hvilket deres hovedakser krysser hverandre perpendi- kulært på midtpunktet for å definere et sentrum for spoleparet. De to parene av spoler er montert med sine sentere adskilt i en fast avstand på en grunnlinje som hovedaksene for spolene krysser i en 45 graders vinkel. Posisjonssignaler fra sensor- spolene blir behandlet for å produsere X- og Y- koordinatverdier som indikerer den relative posisjon til sensorenheten på merkeanordningen. Merkeanord- ningen kan være induktivt eksitert fra en antenne på det mobile kjøretøy.
