Fremgangsmåte for ekstrahering av karotenoide forbindelser, og som omfat- ter det trinn at et materiale som inne- holder den karotenoide forbindelse, bringes i kontakt med en syklisk, hydro- fil, organisk forbindelse, under ekstra- hering av den karotenoide forbindelse, fra materialet til den sykliske, hydro- file, organiske forbindelse. Ved denne fremgangsmåte kan en ka- rotenoid forbindelse effektivt ekstrahe- res, hvilket resulterer i et ekstrakt som inneholder en hey konsentrasjon av den karotenoide forbindelse.
