Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte til bestemmelse av overføringsegenskapene (H(jf)) hos en elektrisk ledning (2) i et ISDN-system, ved hvilken ledningen (2) på en ende påtrykkes et testsignal (m(t)) og på den annen ende av ledningen (2) det på grunn av testsignalet (m(t)) dannede mottakssignal (g(t)) analyseres. For å kunne gjennomføre en slik fremgangsmåte med et testsignal med en crest-faktor l med sammenligningsvis lav kostnad, blir det som testsignal benyttet et binært, bipolart slumptallfølgesignal (m(t)) med crest-faktoren l og mottakssignalet (g(t)) samples under en til perioden av testsignalet (m(t)) motsvarende tids- intervall og underkastes en fouriertrans- formasjon under utvinning av et spektral- signal (G(jf)). Dette blir komplekst multiplisert med et referansespektrum (Mi(jf)) under utvinning av et ut- gangssignal (H(jf)) som utgjør et mål på overføringsegenskapene hos ledningen (31) .
