Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av metallkarbider og silisiumkarbid med stor spesifikk overflate, særlig beregnet for fremstilling av katalysator eller katalysatorbærere for den kjemiske og petrokjemiske industri, j omfatter å omsette en flyktig forbindelse av metallet eller silisium med karbon med stor spesifikk overflate ved en temperatur på 900 til 1400C under spyling med en lnertgass. Fortrinnsvis gjennomføres fremgangsmåten kontinuerlig, for eksempel i en dreieovn.De oppnådde karbider karakteriseres ved et Innhold på 0 til 30* restkarbon, mindre enn Vf> restmetall, et BET-overflateareal mellom 10 og 200 m/g og en krystallittstarrelse mellom 5 og 400 Ångstrøm.
