Description
Oppfinnelsen vedrører en klebemiddelblanding på basis
av polyuretan, polykloropren, polystyren, en uhydrogenert blokk-kopolymer med minst 2 polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-aromatisk hydrokarbon og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjugert dien-hydrokarbon, et hydrogenert derivat av en slik blokk-kopolymer eller en blanding av slike polymerer. Oppfinnelsen vedrører også et laminat som omfatter et første substrat oppnådd av en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer som har minst to polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-atomatisk hydrokarbon og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjusgert dien-hydrokarbon, et annet substrat oppnådd av tekstil, polyvinylklorid, lær, metall eller glass, og som en binding mellom disse en klebemiddelblanding.
Blokk-kopolymerer av den type som her er beskrevet, er kjente. De kan være uhydrogenert eller delvis eller fullstendig hydrogenert og kan ha lineær, forgrenet eller stjerneformet kon-figurasjon .
De kjente blokk-kopolymerer som har ikke-polar karakter, viser manglende klebeevne overfor slike substanser som metaller, tre, lær, polyvinylklorid og andre polymerer som inkluderer polyuretaner og polykloropren, spesielt under våte betingelser under anvendelse av kommersielle klebemidler. Disse mangler kommer f.eks. til syne ved fremstilling av sko, hvor sålematerialet kan være festet til overlæret som kan være laget av stoff, lær eller polyvinylklorid.
Formålet med oppfinnelsen er å eliminere den manglende klebeevne hos de kjente blokk-kopolymerer overfor polare substanser.Klebemiddelblandingen i overensstemmelse med oppfinnelsen omfatter
i tillegg til basisingrediensen en polymerisert alkylester av en syre av akrylsyrerekken, idet denne esterpolymer kan være blandet med eller podet på en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer med minst to polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-
aromatisk hydrokarbon og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjugert dien-hydrokarbon.
De umodifiserte blokk-kopolymerer kan være enten line-ære eller forgrenet og kan ha minst to endestående polymerblokker
av styren eller a-metylstyren og minst én polymerblokk av butadien eller isopren, så vel som hydrogenerte derivater av disse. For formålene ved foreliggende oppfinnelse er den strukturelle konfi-gurasjon ikke av primær betydning.Blokkenes molekylvekt, uttrykt som antallsmidlere molekylvekt, bestemmes ved infrarød- eller tri-tiumtellemetoder. Polymerblokkene av det alkenyl- eller alkényliden-aromatiske hydrokarbon har normalt gjennomsnittlige molekylvekter på mellom 4.000 og 50.000, fortrinnsvis mellom 14.000 og 25.000.
De konjugerte dien-polymerblokker eller deres i alt vesentlig fullstendig hydrogenerte motparter har normalt gjennomsnittlige molekylvekter på mellom 30.000 og 200.000, fortrinnsvis mellom 40.000 og 125.000. To typiske familier er som følger: polystyren/polybuta-dien/polystyren og polystyren/polyisopren/polytyren.
I tillegg til disse uhydrogenerte familier kan visse hydrogenerte familier derav anvendes. Disse omfatter polymerer hvor minst de konjugerte dien-polymerblokker eller en hver ønsket frak-sjon derav er hydrogenert. Selektiv hydrogenering kan utføres for reduksjon av de olefiniske dobbeltbindinger.
Polymerer av estere av syrer av akrylserierekken inkluderer både akrylater og metakrylater. Disse polymerer kalles i det følgende polyakrylater. De estere som det spesielt er tenkt på her, er slike som stammer fra énverdige alifatiske alkoholer med 1-8 karbonatomer.Blandinger av disse estere er også inkludert. Typiske estere inkluderer metylakrylat, etylakrylat, butylakrylat
og de tilsvarende estere av metakrylsyre. Den foretrukne familie er metylmetakrylat. Polymerene av disse monomerer er kjent og trenger følgelig ikke å bli beskrevet ytterligere her. Den gjennomsnittlige molekylvekt for produktene som er spesielt nyttige i blandingen i henhold til oppfinnelsen, ligger mellom 25.000 og 250.000 eller fortrinnsvis mellom 50.000 og 150.000. Disse polymere estere kan så blandes fysisk med polyuretan, polykloropren, polystyren,
en hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer som beskrevet ovenfor eller et hydrogenert derivat derav. Alternativt kan de vært kjemisk podet på
blokk-kopolymerkjedene ved løsningspolymerisasjon i nærvær av blokkpolymeren. Dette gjøres ved dispergering av blokkpolymeren i hydro-karbonløsning og podning av de polymeriserte estere på blokkpolymer-
kjedene i nærvær av en friradikal katalysator, f.eks. et organisk peroksyd. Det foretrekkes at polymetyImetakrylatpodingene har gjennomsnittlige molekylvekter innen det område som er gjengitt ovenfor for homopolymerene.
De polyuretaner som er tenkt å være det foretrukne bindemiddel, er reaksjonsprodukter av diisocyanater og polyestere. Egnede diisocyanater er følgende: difenylmetan-4,4'-diisocyanat,
difenylen-4,4'-diisocyanat,
2.4- toluylen-diisocyanat,
2,6-toluylen-diisocyanat,
3,3-dimetoksy-4,4'-difenylen-diisocyariat
(dianisidin-diisocyanat),
tetrametylen-diisocyanat,
heksametylen-diisocyanat,
dekametylen-diisocyanat,
etylen-diisocyanat,
etyliden-diisocyanat,
propylen-1,2-diisocyanat,
cykloheksylen-1,2-diisocyanat,
m-fenylen-diisocyanat,
p-fenylen-diisocyanat,
1.5- naftalen-diisocyanat,'
3,3'-dimetyl-4,4'-bifenylen-diisocyanat, 3,3'-dimetoksy-4,4'-bifenylen-diisocyanat, 3,3'-difenyl-4,4'-bifenylen-diisocyanat, 4,4'-bifenylen-diisocyanat,
3,3'-dikloro-4,4'-bifenylen-diisocyanat, furfuryliden-diisocyanat,
bis-(2-isocyanatoetyl)fumarat.
En blanding i henhold til oppfinnelsen inneholder fortrinnsvis fra 5 til 50 vekt% av et polyakrylat eller en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer og på denne podet et polyakrylat og fra 95 til 50 vekt% av basisingrediensen. Hvis basisingrediensen er en blokk-kopolymer, så drøyes blandingen fortrinnsvis med polyuretan i en mengde av 1 til 10vektdeler for hver vektdel av blandingen av polyakrylat eller blokk-kopolymer som er påpodet et polyakrylat med blokk-kopolymeren. Hvis polyakrylatet er podet på en blokk-kopolymer, så er polyakrylatet fortrinnsvis tilstede i en mengde av fra 10til 50vekt% av den podede blokk-kopolymer.
Blandingen i henhold til oppfinnelsen er spesielt
godt egnet for anvendelse som klebemidler i fottøyindustrien.
Mens polyakrylatet som tjener som adhesjonspromotor kan påføres overflatene separat fra basisingrediensen, f.eks. polyuretan, så utgjør det ekstra primingtrinn tillegg til omkostningene ved fremstilling av fottøyet. Følgelig eliminerer anvendelsen av blandingen i henhold til oppfinnelsen primingtrinnet og reduserer omkostningene ved produktsjonen mens det på samme tid blir forsterk-ning av bindingen mellom ikke-polart materiale som blokk-kopoly-merene som er beskrevet ovenfor som kan anvendes for såling, og polare materialer så som tekstil, polyvinylklorid og lær, som kan anvendes for fremstilling av overlæret i fottøyet.
Følgende eksempel illustrerer oppfinnelsen.
EKSEMPEL
Den anvendte blokk-kopolymer hadde strukturen polystyren/polybutadien/polystyen.Molekylvektene til blokkens ledd var 14.000, 65.000 og 14.000.Blokkpolymeren ble oppløst i toluen for dannelse av en 10% løsning som ble modifisert med metylmetakrylat (MMA) til hvilken det så ble tilsatt benzoylperoksy (BPO). Mengden av disse komponenter er gjengitt i nedenstående tabell,
så vel som reaksjonstiden og -temperaturen ved slutten av reaksjons-perioden. Hydrokinon ble tilsatt, og reaksjonsblandingen ble av-kjølt for avslutning av reaksjonen.
Fysiske blandinger av polymetylmetakrylat og blokk-kopolymeren som eir beskrevet ovenfor i dette eksempel, ble testet som bindemiddelblandinger mellom hydrokarbon-blokkpolymersubstrater og lær. For dette formål ble blandinger av 20 vektdeler polymetylmetakrylat som hadde en gjennomsnittlig molekylvekt på 100.000 blandet med 100 vektdeler blokk-kopolymer dispergert i toluen/metyletyl-ketonløsning. Løsningen ble påført som en primer på semskede og blokk-kopolymeroverflater, og løsningsmidlet ble så fordampet. En . kommersiell polyuretanløsning ble så påført på hver av de primede overflater, og løsningsmidlet fikk fordampe. De to belagte overflater ble oppvarmet og bundet sammen (i varm tilstand) ved pressing. Avrivningsstyrke ble målt i en Instron Tester ved en separasjons-hastighet på 5 cm pr. minutt. Avrivningsstyrken var 20-22 kg/2,5 cm. Uten metakrylatet i primeren var avrivningsstyrkene bare 3-4 kg/
2,5 cm.
En podet kopolymer som omfattet polystyren/polybutadien/ polystyren podet med polymetylmetakrylat som beskrevet ovenfor i dette eksempel, og som inneholdt 74 vekt% podet metakrylat, ble blandet med et polyuretan-klebemiddel kommersielt tilgjengelig som "USM-322", i en mengde av 10% av det podede produkt og 90% av klebe-midlet. Denne blanding viste seg å være et helt ut tilfredsstil-lende bindemiddel for sammenbinding av et polyvinylkloridsubstrat med et hydrokarbon-blokkpolymersubstrat.
Claims (14)
1.B indemiddelblanding på basis av polyuretan, polykloropren, polystyren, en uhydrogenert blokk-kopolymer med minst to polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-aromatisk hydrokarbon og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjugert dien-hydrokarbon, et hydrogenert derivat av en slik blokk-kopolymer eller en blanding av slike polymerer, karakterisert ved at blandingen omfatter en polymerisert alkylester av en syre av akrylsyrerekken, idet denne esterpolymer kan være blandet med eller podet på en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer som har minst to polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-aromatisk hydrokarbon og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjugert dien-hydrokarbon.
2.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i krav 1, karakterisert ved at den uhydrogenerte eller hydrogenerte blokk-kopolymer har minst to endestående polymerblokker av styren eller a-metylatyren og minst én polymerblokk av butadien eller isopren.
3. Klebemiddelblanding som angitt i krav 1 eller 2, karakterisert ved at blokk-kopolymeren har minst to polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-aromatisk hydrokarbon med gjennomsnittlige molekylvekter mellom 4.000 og 50.000 og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjugert dien-hydrokarbon med en gjennomsnittlig molékylvekt på mellom 30.000 og 200.000.

4.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i krav 3, karakterisert ved at polymerblokkene i det monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-aromatiske hydrokarbon har gjennomsnittlige molekylvekter på mellom 14.000 og 25.00 0, og at polymerblokken i det alifatiske konjugerte dien-hydrokarbon har en gjennomsnittlig molekylvekt på mellom 40.000 og 125.000.
5. Klebemiddelblanding som angitt i hvilket som helst av kravene 1 til 4, karakterisert ved at den polymeriserte alkylester er polymerisert metylmetakrylat.
6.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i hvilket som helst av kravene 1 til 5, karakterisert ved at den polymeri serte alkylester har en gjennomsnittlig molekylvekt på fra 25.000 til 250.000.
7.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i krav 6, karakterisert ved at den polymeriserte alkylester har en gjennomsnittlig molekylvekt på fra 50.000 til 150.000.
8.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i hvilket som helst av kravene 1 til 7, karakterisert ved at blandingen omfatter fra 5 til 50 vekt% av et polyakrylat eller en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer hvorpå det er podet et polyakrylat og fra 95 til 50 vekt% av basisingrediensen.
9.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i krav 8, karakterisert ved at blandingen av et polyakrylat eller en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer som er påpodet et polyakrylat med en blokk-kopolymer drøyes med polyuretan i en mengde av fra 1 til 10 vektdeler for hver vektdel av blandingen.
10.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i krav 8 eller 9, karakterisert ved at den podede blokk-kopolymer inneholder polyakrylat i en mengde av fra 10 til 50 vekt%.
11.K lebemiddelblanding som angitt i hvilket som helst av kravene 1 til 10, vesentlig som her beskrevet med spesiell henvis-ning til eksemplet.
12. Laminat som omfatter:
(a) et første substrat av en uhydrogenert eller hydrogenert blokk-kopolymer som har minst to polymerblokker av et monoalkenyl- eller monoalkenyliden-aromatisk hydrokarbon og minst én polymerblokk av et alifatisk konjugert dien-hydrokarbon;
(b) et annet substrat av et tekstil, polyvinylklorid, lær, metall, glass eller et annet polart materiale;
(c) og som binding mellom disse en blanding som angitt i hvilket som helst av kravene 1 til 11.
