Description

This device relates to a drive device for cargo hatches with hatch sections that can be raised and lowered and in the raised position can be moved laterally or longitudinally by means of at least one toothed rod placed under the section, which projects beyond the end edge of the hatch-six ion and engages with a drive on a drive motor placed outside the hatch's frame, whereby a gasket is embedded in the lower edge of the hatch section. In order for the gasket to be able to run unbroken past the toothed rack, various precautions have previously been proposed, e.g. to let the gasket have such a small width that it fits in the hatch between two teeth on the rack, or to provide the drive motor with two drives, one of which engages with a rack part on the outside of the hatch section and can pull this out so far that the rack part ending inside the gasket can be gripped by the second drive. In the first case, the width of the gasket is limited to the tooth spacing on the rack and in the second case, the drive motor and associated parts become expensive to manufacture.

The purpose of the present invention is, with a simple and cheap construction, to obtain the overall advantages of the previous designs, whereby the packing width is independent of the tooth pitch on the rack and can therefore be chosen arbitrarily, while the tooth pitch can at the same time be chosen so large that in each individual case it peace positions the requirements for permissible tooth torque and quiet gait.

The peculiarity of the invention is that a segment of the toothed rack is pivotable to reveal the gasket when the hatch section is lowered towards the frame. The pivotable tooth segment is preferably connected to a bearing pin on the outside of the hatch section and is pivotable if the pin is suitably actuated by a resilient member, such as a coil spring, to hold the tooth segment in a pivoted position. As the tooth segment's normal position is therefore at an angle with the other part of the rack, there are control means to guide the segment in line with the rack when opening and closing the hatch.

3. A couple of embodiments of the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings, where: Fig. 1 is a cross-section through part of a hatch section and a hatch frame with an installed drive motor, fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the hatch section's lower part along the line II-II in fig. 1 and a plan view of the frame, fig. 3 is a cross-section similar to that in fig. 1 through another embodiment, and fig. 4 is a horizontal section along the line IV-IV in fig. 3.

According to fig. 1 and 2, a hatch section 1 is designed to cover a cargo space opening on a vessel, a transport device or a stationary container, displaceable in the transverse or longitudinal direction of the vessel on a frame 2 running around the cargo space opening, which is made with raceways for rollers on the hatch section ( not shown). The frame 2 has an upwardly directed strip for interaction with a continuous gasket 4 embedded in the lower edge of the hatch section 1, which elastically encloses the strip 3 in the hatch's closed position. Before the opening of the hatch, the hatch section 1 is lifted by means of devices not shown so much that the gasket 4 and the underside of the section 1 can pass freely above the strip 3, after which the hatch section 1 is moved to the open position.

On the underside of the hatch section 1, a rack 5 with vertical teeth is attached parallel to the section's path of movement and extends beyond the edge of the hatch section to near the gasket 4, while a separate rack part 6 in the extension of the rack 5 is attached to a bracket 7 on the section 1 outside. The space between the rack 5 and the rack part 6 is connected by means of a toothed segment 8 which is pivotable on a bearing pin 9 stored in the console 7, which can be influenced towards the position of the segment 8 shown in the drawings by means of a coil spring 10

Til lukeseksjonens 1 styring er en styrerulle 13 plassert midt foran drevet 12 på karmen 2 In the hatch frame 2, a hydraulic, electric or pneumatic rotation motor 11 is mounted with the drive shaft vertical and at the upper end provided with a drive 12 for engagement with the rack part 6, the segment 8 and the rack 5. For the control of the hatch section 1, a guide roller 13 is located in the front center driven 12 on frame 2

The outermost tooth 14 on the rack part 6 is extended upwards, so that this tooth engages with the drive 12 regardless of whether the hatch section 1 is in the raised or lowered position, so that in the latter case the section is locked in its position by the drive motor 12.

As the tooth segment 8 in its normal position is at an angle with the other part of the rack, it must be swung forcibly to come into line with the rack, which during the hatch section's maneuvering occurs automatically by means of an inside drive 12 on the frame 2 upright cam 15, against which the rear on the segment 8 can run, as well as another cam 16 likewise placed on the frame 2 outside the drive 12 which interacts with a cam follower 17 on the segment 8.

The device works in the following way. In the closed position of the hatch, it is lowered against the frame 2, so that the gasket 4 seals against the strip 3, whereby the tooth segment 8 is in the swing-out position shown in the drawings. The upper part of the tooth 14 is thereby engaged with the teeth of the drive 12. Before the hatch section 1 is displaced, it is lifted up so much that the gasket 4 and the rack 5 are released from the strip 3, whereby the tooth engagement between the tooth 14 and the drive 12 is moved to the lower part of the rack section 6 according to the example shown. When the motor 11 is started, the drive 12 pulls the section 1 outwards, whereby the cam 15 simultaneously presses against the segment 8 and swings this in line with the rack part 6 for engagement with the drive 12. The segment 8 thereby forms a complementary part of the straight tooth path. When the hatch is pulled further out, segment 8 of the spring will swing out again to the position shown.

When the hatch is closed, the segment 8 must again be swung back in line with the rack, which happens when the cam follower 17 on the segment 8 hits the outside of the cam 16, which leads the segment into engagement with the drive 12 and finally swings this back to its starting position, before the hatch section 1 is lowered onto frame 2.

By that in fig. 3 and 4 illustrated embodiment, the same reference numbers are used for the same parts according to fig. 1 and 2 and the design differs only in that the deflection of the tooth segment 8 is provided without the involvement of any springs. The cam placed inside the drive 12 has been divided into two separately separated parts 15a and 15b and on the rear side of the tooth segment 8 is attached a console 18, which carries a vertical pin 19, arranged to cooperate with the side facing away from the rack the comb part 15b.

When the hatch opens, the toothed segment 8 is swung in the same way as described in the embodiment according to fig. 1 and 2, i.e. the back side of the segment 8 is pressed against the cam part 15b so that it swings in line with the other part of the rack, whereby the cam part 15a guides the segment into the space between the drive 12 and the roller 13.

When the toothed segment 8 has passed the drive 12 when the hatch is closed, the pin 19 hits the back of the cam part 15b and is guided by this to the position shown where the segment is held by the end of the cam part 15b being pushed into the space between the console 18 and the back of the segment 8. The swinging of the segment 8 and retention in the swing-out position thus takes place without a spring or other auxiliary means having to be used, which further simplifies the construction.

The examples shown show only two of several possible ones, and the construction can be varied within the scope of the invention. Chambers 15 and 16 can thus e.g. is replaced with cam grooves in a plate, and the cam follower 17 with a pin that follows the grooves and also other variants can occur.. The tooth rack division is completely independent of the width of the gasket and can be chosen according to the operating conditions that occur.
