Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører aspekter ved elektrisk sveisning av aluminium eller aluminiumlegering, der aluminiumet eller aluminiumslegeringen hosliggende en tilblivende sveiseskjøt oppviser et oksidlag, og der en sveisetråds frie ende tilføres en omgivende dekkgass. Som sveisestrøm anvendes en vekselstrøm, for eksempel valgt i omradet 50 Hz - 500 kHz. Videre anvendes en sveisetråd som hovedsakelig består av aluminium eller aluminiumslegering forsynt med oksidhemmende belegg, for eksempel av kobber, som danner sveisetrådens ytterkappe eller yttermantel og/ eller at det som nevnte dekkgass anvendes en dekkgass som er iblandet oksygen, eller der dekkgassen under sveisingen tilføres oksygen. Volummengden av oksygen i forhold til dekkgassen er i området 0, 1 - 5 %. Dersom sveisingen utføres i et magnetfelt, velges sveisestrømmens minimumsfrekvens som en funksjon av magnetfeltets styrke. Oppfinnelsen anviser også metodikk for fremstilling av sveisetråden, samt nødvendige materialbetingelser for en anvendbar sveisepistol. Oppfinnelsen er særlig anvendelig ved sveising i et magnetfelt.
