Abstract
Fremgangsmåte for å omdanne gassformige alkaner til flytende hydrokarboner ved at en gassformig filførsel som inneholder alkaner, omsettes med tørr bromdamp slik at det dannes alkylbromider og hydrogen-bromsyredamp. Blandingen med alkylbromider og hydrogenbromsyre omsettes deretter over en syntetisk krystallinsk aluminium-silikat-katalysator, så som zeolitt ZSM-5, ved en temperatur på 150 - 450 °C slik at det dannes hydrokarboner med høyere molekylvekt og hydrogenbromsyredamp. Propan og butan som utgjør en del av produktene, kan bli utvunnet eller resirkulert tilbake gjennom prosessen for å danne ytterligere C5+-hydrokarboner. Det er beskrevet forskjellige metoder for å fjerne hydrogenbromsyredampen fra hydrokarbonene med høyere molekylvekt og for å danne brom av hydrogenbromsyren for anvendelse i prosessen.
