Brenselcelle omfattende (a) en anode, (b) en katode, (c) en membran av elektrolyttpolymer som er anbrakt mellom anoden og katoden og som omfatter minst ett polyolefin som er påpodet sidekjeder med protonkonduktive funksjonelle grupper. Brenselcellen har en verdi for celleresistans ved 90 (C som ikke er høyere enn 0,30 ( cm2 fortrinnsvis mellom 0,2 ( cm2 og 0,25 ( cm2, mer foretrukket mellom 0,05 ( cm2 og 0,20 ( cm2, og forskjellen i celleresistans ved 20 (C og ved 90 (C er ikke mer enn 90 %, fortrinnsvis ikke mer enn 70 (C mer foretrukket ikke mer enn 50 % av verdien for celleresistans ved 90 (C.
