For å få en drivanordning for et løfteverk i en løfteanordning som kan utføres på en kostnadsgunstig og lite plasskrevende måte og hvor det ikke oppstår noe etterløp av betydning etter en utkobling av løftebevegelsen, slik at det muliggjøres særlig en nødutkobling under last såvel som en rask omkobling av løfteretningen, foreslås det at elektromotoren (1) skal være iform av en universalmotor, at hver bestemt løftehastighet skal være tilordnet en utgangsvekselspenningsverdi i vekselspennmgsforsyningen til universalmotoren (1), at rotorviklingens (3a) to tilslutninger (5a, 5b) skal være ombyttbare i seriekoblingen, og at de seriekoblede viklinger (3a, 3b, 3c) i tillegg skal kunne skilles fra vekselstrømforsyningen og deretter etter ombytting av de to rotorviklingstilslutninger (5a, 5b) skal kunne kortsluttes.
