Description
Fremgangsmåte til behandling av nyskutt hval.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en
fremgangsmåte til behandling av nyskutt
hval, og hovedhensikten med oppfinnelsen
er å sørge for at hvalkjøttet kan bevares
på sådan måte at det kan anvendes som
menneskeføde, samtidig som hvalen brin-ges til å flyte på enkel måte.
Det er tidligere foreslått å pumpe opp
nyskutt hval ved hjelp av luft fra pumper
ombord i hvalbåten. Dette er hensiktsmes-sig for tauing av hvalen eller såkalt «flag-ging» hvor den oppumpede hval forsynes
med et merkeflagg mens hvalbåten jak-ter på ny hval. Ved en luft som pumpes inn
i hvalkroppen, økes imidlertid gjæringen
og forråtnelsen som følge av surstoffet i
luften. For å hindre forråtnelse og gjæring er der også foreslått å kjøle av hvalkroppen ved at denne avkjøles ved gjen-nomstrømning av kaldt vann samtidig som
blodet tappes ut, men det å anbringe kjøle-rør i hvalkroppen er et vanskelig arbeide.
Det er også foreslått å sprøyte inn antibio-tika i hvalkroppen for å hindre gjæring
og forråtnelse, men med de stoffer som
anvendes i denne hensikt i dag er ikke
hvalkjøttet lovlig å omsette som men-neskeføde.
For å unngå de ovenfor nevnte ulem-per ved de tidligere foreslåtte fremgangs-
måter, går oppfinnelsen ut på at der på i og for seg kjent måte ved hjelp av slange og spyd innføres kullsyre under høyt trykk i hvalkroppen. Det anvendes da fortrinnsvis kullsyre som oppbevares i flytende
form på stålflasker og/eller trykktank, og på grunn av det høye trykk vil man uten drift av pumper bringe hvalen til å flyte meget hurtigere, samtidig som kullsyren på grunn av trykket vil fortrenge luft fra hvalkroppen og også forårsake avkjøling, idet man fortrinnsvis også på kjent måte åpner for blodsystemet, idet kullsyren under trykk også vil bevirke en hurtigere ut-tømning av blodet. Fortrinnsvis gjentas kullsyrebehandlingen ved jevne mellom-rom.

- Fremgangsmåte til behandling av nyskutt hval, karakterisert ved at der på i og for seg kjent måte ved hjelp av slange og spyd, innføres kullsyre under høyt trykk i hvalkroppen.
