Emulgerend systeem voor emulsies van het water-in-olie-type alsmede emulsies, die een dergelijk systeem bevatten.
De uitvinding heeft betrekking op een nieuw emulgerend systeem, dat in de vorm van een mengsel van een aardalkalimetaal- en/of metaal-lanolaat en een sterol bevindt, alsmede op de toepassing van dit emulgerende systeem voor de bereiding van emulsies van het water-in-olie-5 type voor de cosmetische of farmaceutische industrie.
In het Franse octrooischrift 72.10843 is reeds voorgesteld als emulgerend systeem voor anulsies van het "water-in-olie"-type een mengsel te gebruiken, dat bestaat uit a) tenminste een van de lanolaten van magnesium, calcium, lithium, zink of aluminium en b) gehydrogeneerde 10 lanoline en/of lanoline-alcohol.
Volgens dit octrooischrift zijn de beschreven emulsies meer economisch omdat ze onder andere rijker aan water zijn en een goede stabiliteit bij opslag bezitten bij temperaturen die veel hoger of lager zijn dan kamertemperatuur.
15 In cosmetisch opzicht bezitten deze emulsies echter niet alle ge wenste eigenschappen, die in het algemeen beoogd worden voor cremes, die bedoeld zijn voor toepassing op het gezicht. Deze emulsies van het water-in-olie-type hebben echter geen souplesse en bezitten een zekere neiging bij de toepassing de huid wit te maken.
20 Anderzijds levert de toepassing van gehydrogeneerde lanoline en/of lanoline-alcohol niet alleen wegens de prijs van de uitgangsmaterialen moeilijkheden op maar eveneens wegens fluctuaties van de kwaliteit daarvan, die te wijten zijn aan een peroxidatie-verschijnselen, die leiden tot de vorming van (ongewenste) geuren en tot kleurveranderin-25 gen.
Teneinde de emulsies volgens het Franse octrooischrift 72.10843 meer souplesse te verschaffen en de nadelen op te heffen zijn diverse co-emulgeermiddelen van lanolaten onderzocht, met name sterolen zoals cholesterol.
30 Hoewel de verkregen emulsies soepeler waren en de toepassing ervan aangenamer was, bleek desalniettemin dat ze een minder goede stabiliteit bezaten dan de anulsies volgens het Franse octrooischrift 72.10843.
Na talrijke onderzoekingen van dit emulgerende systeem, bestaande 35 uit een lanolaat en een sterol, vond men, dat het probleem van de stabiliteit van de emulsies geen verband hield met de aard van het co-emulgeermiddel, dat wil zeggen de sterol, maar met het lanolaat zelf, 6502 1-:0 * £ 'w 2 afhankelijk van de toegepaste bereidingswijze.
Volgens het Franse octrooi schrift 72.10843 worden de lanolaten bereid volgens de twee volgende methoden: ’ 1) hetzij door een dubbele ontleding, waarbij men eerst het 5 natrium- of kaliumzout van lanolinezuur bereidt en zodanig verdunt, dat het als isotrope oplossing aanwezig is en vervolgens uit deze oplossing het gewenste zout van lanolinezuur precipiteert door toevoeging van een oplossing van een anorganisch zout, bijvoorbeeld een chloride, 2) hetzij door directe inwerking van het gewenste metaal hydroxide 10 op lanolinezuur.
Deze twee werkwijzen hebben gemeen, dat zij worden uitgevoerd in water bevattend milieu, waardoor dus bepaalde ongewenste, moeilijk te verwijderen, basische zepen aanwezig zijn.
Omdat de aanwezigheid van basische zepen, die een nadelige invloed 15 hebben op de stabiliteit van de emulsies, wanneer het lanolaat wordt verenigd met een sterol, zijn andere werkwijzen voor de bereiding van de lanolaten beproefd, met name de werkwijze, die bestaat uit het direct laten reageren van het lanolinezuur met een metaal- of aardalkalimetaal acetaat en het door verwarmen onder verminderde druk verwijderen 20 van het gevormde azijnzuur.
Verrasserderwijs werd gevonden, dat wanneer de volgens de laatst genoemde werkwijze bereide lanolaten worden verenigd met een sterol, zoals cholesterol, zeer stabiele water-in-olie-emulsies worden verkregen, die goede eigenschappen betreffende de uitspreiding bezitten.
25 Aan de andere kant bezitten de volgens deze werkwijze verkregen lanolaten een verbeterde oplosbaarheid in de vetfase van de emulsies dankzij de totale afwezigheid van basische zepen.
De uitvinding heeft derhalve betrekking op een nieuw industrieel produkt, namelijk een emulgerend systeem voor emulsies van het "water-30 in-olie"-type, bestaande uit een metaal- en/of aardalkalimetaallanolaat en een sterol, waarbij dit lanolaat wordt verkregen door directe inwerking van lanolinezuur op aardalkalimetaal- en/of metaal acetaat in wa-tervrij milieu.
Volgens de uitvinding zijn de metaal- en aardalkalimetaallanolaten 35 bij voorkeur lanolaten van calcium, magnesium, zink, koper of alumi-ni urn.
De aardalkalimetaallanolaten, met name het magnesium!anolaat, maken het mogelijk voortreffelijke emulsies van het water-in-olie-type te verkrijgen, welke emulsies zeer stabiel en gemakkelijk toepasbaar 40 zijn wegens goede eigenschappen betreffende de uitspreiding.

Zoals reeds is vermeld is de werkwijze voor het bereiden van de lanolaten, die bestemd zijn om tezamen met sterol als co-emulgeermiddel te worden toegepast, uiterst belangrijk.
Deze werkwijze, die gemakkelijk kan worden uitgevoerd, bestaat uit 5 het direct in watervrij milieu laten reageren van lanolinezuur en een aardalkalimetaal- of metaal acetaat en het door verwarmen onder verminderde druk verwijderen van het gevormde azijnzuur, waardoor een maximale verschuiving van het evenwicht teweeg kan worden gebracht.
De omzetting wordt in het algemeen uitgevoerd onder stikstof bij 10 een temperatuur van 80-150°C gedurende een periode die voldoende is om door destillatie onder verminderde druk het tijdens de omzetting gevormde azijnzuur maximaal te verwijderen.
De opbrengst van de omzetting ligt in het algemeen tussen 90 en 99%, betrokken op het als uitgangsmateriaal gebruikte lanolinezuur.
15 Desgewenst kunnen de verkregen lanolaten later worden gezuiverd door aan het mengsel een aromatisch oplosmiddel, zoals tolueen, toe te voegen, en door azeotrope destillatie bij een temperatuur tussen 100 en 140°C eventueel overgebleven sporen azijnzuur te verwijderen.
Volgens een variant van deze werkwijze kan de omzetting van het 20 lanolinezuur en het aardalkalimetaal- of metaal acetaat worden uitgevoerd en beëindigd bij aanwezigheid van een bij hoge temperatuur kokende, cosmetisch en/of farmaceutisch aanvaardbare olie, bijvoorbeeld vaseline-olie.
Na de omzetting verkrijgt men zo lanolaten als oplossing in olie, 25 die een deel van de vetfase van emulsies van het water-in-olie-type kan uitmaken.
Als co-emulgeermiddelen van het nieuwe emulgerende systeem volgens de uitvinding toepasbare sterolen kunnen in het bijzonder cholersterol en 3-sitosterol worden genoemd.
30 In het emulgerende systeem volgens de uitvinding ligt de gewichts verhouding van lanolaat/sterol in het gebied tussen ongeveer 95/5 en 40/60, waarbij de voorkeursverhouding ongeveer 90/10 bedraagt.
Volgens een variant van de uitvinding kan het aardalkalimetaal- of metaal!anolaat worden verenigd met tenminste een aardalkalimetaal- of 35 metaal zout van een ander vetzuur, bijvoorbeeld een stearaat of een oleaat van calcium, magnesium, zink, koper of aluminium, waarbij de hoeveelheid van het aardalkalimetaal- of metaalzout van dit andere vetzuur in het algemeen niet meer dan 25 gewichtsprocent, betrokken op het gewicht van het aardalkalimetaal- of metaal!anolaat, bedraagt. Volgens 40 deze variant wordt het mengsel van aardalkalimetaal- of metaal!anolaat 8502 1 3 j 4 en van het aardalkalimetaal- of metaal zout van een ander vetzuur verkregen volgens de boven beschreven werkwijze, waarbij echter wordt uitgegaan van een mengsel van lanolinezuur en van het andere vetzuur, dat men in de gekozen hoeveelheid wenst toe te voegen.
5 De uitvinding heeft eveneens betrekking op soepele emulsies van het water-in-olie-type, die een waterfase, een vetfase en een hier boven gedefineerd emulgerend systeem bevatten.
Deze emulsies, die cosmetische of farmaceutische dragers kunnen vormen, bezitten een viscositeit tussen 8,0 en 8,5 Pa.s, dat wil zeggen 10 lager dan de viscositeit van de emulsies volgens het Franse octrooi-schrift 72.10843, die een viscositeit met een orde van grootte van 10 tot 11 Pa.s bezitten.
In deze emulsies bedraagt de concentratie van het emulgerende systeem volgens de uitvinding in het algemeen 3-20 gewichtsprocent, bij 15 voorkeur 5-12 gewichtsprocent, betrokken op het totale gewicht van de emulsie.
De gewichtsverhouding van de vetfase en het emulgeermiddel ligt tussen 95/5 en 50/50, maar deze verhouding bedraagt bij voorkeur ongeveer 90/10.
20 Als produkten, die de vetfase van de emulsies vormen, kunnen worden genoemd: - koolwaterstofolieën, bijvoorbeeld paraffine-olie, stearylocta-noaat, perhydrosqualeen en oplossingen van een microkristallijne wassen in olieën, 25 - dierlijke of plantaardige olieën, zoals zoete amandelolie, avocado-olie, calophylumolie, lanoline, ricinusolie, paardevet, reuzel, olijfolie, jojoba-olie, boterolie, hoplosthetusolie, - mineraleolieën, waarvan het kooktraject onder atmosferische druk tussen ongeveer 250°C en 4I0°C ligt, 30 - al dan niet verzadigde esters, zoals alkylmyristaten, bijvoor beeld de isopropyl-, butyl- en cetylmyristaten, hexadecylstearaat, ethyl- of propylpalmitaat, triglyceriden van octaanzuur en decaanzuur en cetylricinoleaat.
De vetfase kan eveneens in andere olieën oplosbare polysiloxan- 35 olieën bevatten, bijvoorbeeld dimethylpolysiloxan, methylfenylsiloxan en het polysiloxan-glycolcopolymeer.
Om de retentie van olieën te bevorderen kan men eveneens wassen, bijvoorbeeld carnabauwas, candellilawas, bijenwas, microkristallijne was en ozokeriet gebruiken.
40 Wanneer de emulsies bestemd zijn voor cosmetische toepassing kun- 8502130 5 nen ze in de vorm van hydraterende zonne-crêmes of hydraterende crèmes voor het gezicht, het lichaam of de handen alsmede in de vorm van hydraterende make-up of foundations verkeren. In dit geval bedraagt de concentratie van de waterfase van de emulsie in het algemeen 20-70 ge-5 wichtsprocent, bij voorkeur 40-60 gewichtsprocent, betrokken op het totale gewicht van de emulsie.
Deze preparaten kunnen eveneens in de vorm van hydraterende zonne-sticks of hydraterende sticks voor het gezicht en het lichaam verkeren, alsmede in de vorm van lipstick of oogmake-up. In dit geval bedraagt de 10 concentratie van de waterfase in de emulsie in het algemeen 5-70 gewichtsprocent, betrokken op het totale gewicht van de emulsie.
De cosmetische preparaten kunnen alle bestanddelen bevatten, die in het algemeen in de cosmetica worden toegepast, in het bijzonder kleurstoffen, pigmenten, zonnefilters, parfums, verduurzamingsmiddelen 15 zoals p-hydroxymethylbenzoaat of p-hydroxypropy 1benzoaat alsmede co-emulgeermiddelen, bijvoorbeeld het door de firma Goldschmidt onder de aanduiding "PROTEGIN W." in de handel gebrachte produkt.
De preparaten kunnen bovendien bepaalde werkzame stoffen bevatten, die niet alleen dienen voor het onderhoud van de huid maar eveneens 20 voor het verbeteren van de eigenschappen ervan, met name de elasticiteit ervan.
Als voorbeelden van deze stoffen kunnen in het bijzonder bevoch-tigingsmiddelen worden genoemd, zoals thiamorfolinon en derivaten daarvan, vitaminen, revitaliserende middelen, proteïne-derivaten, zoals 25 elastine en collageen, enzovoorts.
De emulsies volgens de uitvinding kunnen eveneens een drager vormen voor bepaalde therapeutisch aktieve stoffen, waarbij de preparaten in de vorm van crèmes verkeren.
Als werkzame stoffen, die de voorkeur verdienen voor dit type dra-30 ger, kunnen in het bijzonder worden genoemd: - anti-inflammatoire widdelen3 wet nawe corticosteroïden zoals hydrocortison, difluprednaat, β-methason of dexamethason, - antibiotica, zoals erytromycine, clindamycine of neomycine, - keratolytische middelen, zoals retinoïnezuur of benzoyl-35 peroxide, - middelen tegen psoriasis, zoals antraline, derivaten daarvan en etretinaat, - vitaminen en derivaten ervan, bijvoorbeeld vitamine A-palmitaat, biotine of d-panthenol, 40 - fungicide middelen, zoals imidazoolderivaten of tolnaftaat en 8502130 6 - natuurlijke of synthetische geslachtshormonen, zoals progesteron of testosteron.
De werkwijze voor de bereiding van de water-in-olie-emulsies bestaat uit het in een eerste trap oplossen van het lanolaat in de vetfa-5 se bij een temperatuur van ongeveer 100°C en onder krachtig roeren en het in een tweede trap toevoegen van het sterol bij een temperatuur van ongeveer 80°C, waarna men afkoelt tot een temperatuur van ongeveer 40°C en men onder krachtig roeren de waterfase toevoegt, die bij voorkeur op dezelfde temperatuur is gebracht, vervolgens koelt men de emulsie onder 10 roeren af tot kamertemperatuur. Desgewenst kan men de emulsie fijnmaken met behulp van een walsmolen.
De zojuist beschreven werkwijze maakt in het bijzonder het verkrijgen van crèmes mogelijk. Voor het verkrijgen van sticks wordt water tevoren verwarmd op 80°C en toegevoegd aan het niet-afgekoelde mengsel, 15 vervolgens giet men bij deze temperatuur de verkregen emulsie in de vormen, die geschikt zijn voor het vervaardigen van sticks.
In de volgende voorbeelden wordt de uitvinding nader toegelicht.
BEREIDING VAN DE LANOLATEN
Bereiding van het zinklanolaat 20 In een geschikt vat, dat is voorzien van een inrichting voor de verwijdering van azijnzuur door destillatie onder verminderde druk en van een stikstoftoevoer, brengt men 221,7 g lanolinezuur (0,5 mol).
Men verwarmt het vat op temperatuur van 80°C tot het lanolinezuur is gesmolten en vervolgens voegt men in een keer 53,77 g 25 zinkacetaat.2H20 (0,245 mol) toe.
Vervolgens brengt men het mengsel op een temperatuur van 120-125°C teneinde het gevormde water en het gevormde azijnzuur door destillatie te verwijderen. Men brengt de inrichting vervolgens geleidelijk onder verminderde druk (1,99 kPa) en brengt de temperatuur geleidelijk op 30 137°C.
Na 35 minuten verkrijgt men een eerste destillaat van azijnzuur en water (37 g), en vervolgens een tweede destillaat (1,66 g) na 40 minuten bij een temperatuur van ongeveer 130-135°C onder een druk van 1,99 kPa.
35 Men voegt vervolgens 100 g tolueen toe en men voert vervolgens een azeotrope destillatie van overgebleven sporen azijnzuur uit onder atmosferische druk en bij een temperatuur van 120-130°C.
Dankzij deze laatste behandeling kan azijnzuur worden verwijderd tot een hoeveelheid van 97,6%, betrokken op de theoretische waarde.
40 Het zinklanolaat (233,6 g) wordt verkregen in een opbrengst van 8502 H' » -5 7 9855 en bezit een totale zuurheid van 2,075 meq/g (theoretische waarde 2,11 meq/g).
Bereiding van het koper!anolaat
In een geschikt vat, dat is voorzien van een Inrichting voor de 5 verwijdering van azijnzuur door destillatie onder verminderde druk en van een stikstoftoevoer, brengt men 221,7 g lanolinezuur (0,5 mol), dat men onder stikstof op een temperatuur van 90°C brengt totdat de gehele hoeveelheid lanolinezuur is gesmolten.
Vervolgens voegt men 50 g (0,245 mol) koperacetaat-monohydraat toe 10 en men brengt het mengsel onder roeren op een temperatuur tussen 117 en 125°C. Na het afnemen van de destillatie brengt men de apparatuur onder verminderde druk en onder een druk van 1,99 kPa verhoogt men de temperatuur geleidelijk tot 135°C.
Zo verkrijgt men een eerste destillaat (33,7 g) van azijnzuur en 15 water en vervolgens een tweede destillaat (1,15 g) na een uur onder een druk van 1,99 kPa bij 135°C.
Daarna blijkt een verdere zuivering niet meer nodig te zijn, het verkregen koperlanolaat bevat slechts sporen achtergebleven azijnzuur.
Zo verkrijgt men 252 g koperlanolaat met een opbrengst van 100%.
20 Bereiding van het magnesium!anolaat
In een driehalskolf van 6 liter, die is voorzien van een voor destillatie onder verminderde druk geschikte inrichting en een stikstoftoevoer, brengt men 2444,2 g lanolinezuur (5,5 mol), die men onder stikstof op een temperatuur van ongeveer 90°C brengt. Na het smelten 25 van het lanolinezuur voegt men vervolgens in een keer 578,2 g magne-siumacetaat.4 H2O (2,7 mol) toe en zet men het verwarmen voort tot een temperatuur van ongeveer 108°C. Bij deze temperatuur beginnen het azijnzuur en het hydratatiewater van het magnesiumacetaat te destilleren. Vervolgens brengt men de temperatuur van het reactiemengsel gelei-30 del ijk op 130°C, waarbij het gevormde azijnzuur wordt gedestilleerd.
Men handhaaft de temperatuur gedurende ongeveer twee uren op 130°C en na het afnemen van de destillatie brengt men de apparatuur onder verminderde druk teneinde de verwijdering van overgebleven azijnzuur te bevorderen.
35 Na een uur bij 130-135°C onder een druk van 1,99 kPa, verkrijgt men een eerste destillaat (461 g). Men voegt vervolgens 2505 g vaseli-ne-olie toe en men zet het verwarmen bij 130-135eC onder verminderde druk (6,65 Pa) gedurende een uur voort en men verkrijgt een tweede destillaat (47 g).

8 vaseline-olIe bevindt, kan als zodanig worden gebruikt voor de bereiding van emulsies van het water-in-olie-type.

Claims (11)
1. Emulgerend systeem voor emulsies van het water-in-olie-type, met het kenmerk, dat dit bestaat uit een metaal- of aardalkalimetaal- 5 lanolaat en een sterol, welk lanolaat is verkregen door directe inwerking van lanolinezuur op een metaal- of aardalkalimetaalacetaat in wa-tervrij milieu.
2. Systeem volgens conclusie 1, met het kenmerk, dat het metaal-of aardalkalimetaal!anolaat calcium-, magnesium-, zink-, koper- en/of 10 aluminium!anolaat is.
3. Systeem volgens conclusie 1 of 2, met het kenmerk, dat het sterol cholesterol en/of β-sitosterol is.
4. Systeem volgens een of meer der voorgaande conclusies, met het kenmerk, dat de gewichtsverhouding van 1anolaat/sterol ligt tussen 95/5 15 en 40/6 en bij voorkeur ongeveer 90/10 bedraagt.
5. Emulsie van het water-in-olie-type, die een waterfase, een vet-fase en een emulgerend systeem bevat, met het kenmerk, dat het emulgerende systeem een systeem volgens een of meer der conclusies 1-4 is.
6. Emulsie volgens conclusie 5, met het kenmerk, dat deze een vis- 20 cositeit van 8,0-8,5 Pa.s bezit.
7. Emulsie volgens conclusie 5 of 6, met het kenmerk, dat de concentratie van het emulgerende systeem ligt tussen 3 en 20 gew.%, bij voorkeur’tussen 5 en 12 gew.%, betrokken op het totale gewicht van de emulsie.
8. Emulsie volgens een of meer der conclusies 5-7, met het kenmerk, dat de gewichtsverhouding van de vetfase tot het emulgerende systeem ligt tussen 95/5 en 50/50 en bij voorkeur ongeveer 90/10 bedraagt.
9. Emulsie volgens een of meer der conclusies 5-8, met het ken- 30 merk, dat deze in de vorm van een creme verkeert en de waterfase bevat in een concentratie tussen 20 en 70 gew.%, bij voorkeur tussen 40 en 60 gew.%, betrokken op het totale gewicht van de emulsie.
10. Emulsie volgens een of meer der conclusies 5-8, met het kenmerk. dat deze in de vorm van een stick verkeert en de waterfase bevat 35 in een concentratie tussen 5 en 70 gew.%, betrokken op het totale gewicht van de emulsie.
11. Emulsie volgens een of meer der conclusies 5-10, met het kenmerk, dat deze tenminste een werkzaam bestanddeel met cosmetische en/of therapeutische werking alsmede een of meer voor cosmetische of thera- 40 peutische preparaten gebruikelijke bestanddelen bevat. ** * r- -
