Abstract

A plug for a container holding liquid under pressure which can be pierced by a suitable implement designed so that the contents do not gush out and designed for a smaller container than in the main patent is a three piece plug with an outer portion (1) with a flanged top and hollow conical base, holding an upper stopper (25) and a lower stopper (9). The upper stopper has a central weakened region (29) and its lower sleeve part (26) has concave sides to engage the curved inside part of the top of the main outer portion (1). The lower stopper (9) also has a concave groove to engage a bulbous rim (3) around the inside of the lower part of the main portion (1).
