Abstract

La presente invencion se relaciona a un proceso de reaccion mejorado que permite alcanzar rendimientos de produccion de NF3 excelentes, mientras se minimiza la cantidad de fluor sin reaccionar existente en los gases del proceso y minimizar la cantidad de desecho fundido liquido (HF/ NH3) producido por el proceso. El proceso de NF3 basico reside en hacer reaccionar F2 con una fuente de iones de amonio, por ejemplo, fluoruro acido de amonio, bajo condiciones para formar NF3. La mejora en el proceso comprende: introducir F2 y la fuente de iones de amonio simultaneamente y corriente abajo a traves de una columna empacada o columna monolito a una primer temperatura; hacer reacciona el F2 y la fuente de iones de amonio en la columna; y, remover una mezcla de NF3 y subproductos de la columna a una segunda temperatura mayor que la primer temperatura.
