Abstract

Se hidrogenaron selectivamente compuestos acetilenicos en las corrientes de olefina tal como 1,3-butadieno mezclado sobre los catalizadores de cobre mantenidos en soportes altamente porosos tales como alumina, silice, etc. Los soportes preferidos tienen el diametro de poro promedio mayor de aproximadamente 200A, sin microporos, volumen de poro total mayor de aproximadamente 0.65 cc/g, y preferiblemente menor de aproximadamente 230 m2/g del area superficial BET. Los catalizadores de cobre se promovieron preferiblemente con el metal del grupo VIII tal como paladio para mejorar la actividad baja del catalizador de cobre. La corriente del producto normalmente contiene menos de 20 ppm de alquinos totales. Tambien, los catalizadores de cobre y los catalizadores de cobre que promueven paladio pueden modificarse con oxido de zinc para mejorar el rendimiento de los catalizadores. El reactor se cargo con dos o mas catalizadores de cobre promovidos con diferentes niveles de paladio. Preferiblemente, los catalizadores de cobre se modificaron tambien con plata, oro o tanto plata como oro para reducir la formacion polimerica por el componente de cobre del catalizador, mejorar el rendimiento de olefinas tales como 1,3-butadieno, y evitar la perdida de cobre y/o paladio debida a la lixiviacion en la fase liquida del hidrocarburo.
