Abstract

Se describe un metodo para el tratamiento de sedimentos, en donde los sedimentos tienen una parte liquida y particulas que contienen metal entremezcladas con los mismos; las particulas comprenden metal, oxido de metal o hidroxido de metal y el metodo comprende los siguientes pasos: atomizar los sedimentos; suministrar los sedimentos atomizados a una flama de un quemador provisto en un horno; llevar la parte liquida de los sedimentos a vaporizacion por medio de la flama mientras que se mantiene dicha flama por medio de un suministro separado de combustible; y llevar por lo menos parte de las particulas que contienen metal a fundicion por medio de la flama; esto provee un metodo eficiente para cuidar los materiales de desecho de las plantas, en la industria del acero o industria petroquimica por ejemplo.
