Abstract
Un sistema y método para instalacion fotonica y conmutacion con proteccion de línea en una red optica para permitir la operacion tolerante de fallas. La red optica comprende componentes cuya operacion es supervisada por un controlador. Si el controlador determina que ha fallado una línea de transmision optica en una sola trayectoria, el controlador redirigirá la trayectoria de la señal a través de un componente suelto o de proteccion. De una manera alternativa, el controlador puede dirigirse la trayectoria de la señal a través de un trasladador de frecuencia y otra línea de transmision optica.
