Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la purificacion de vitamina A consistente en calentar una preparacion de vitamina A en una atmosfera inerte, a una temperatura inferior a 170 degree C y a una presion menor de 4 mm de mercurio, dicho calentamiento tiene lugar en un recipiente cubierto de la luz. La vitamina A obtenida del proceso de la presente invencion es mezclada con desde 0.5 : 1 hasta 2 : 1 partes de tocoferol a vitamina A. La mezcla de vitamina A y tocoferol puede ser encapsulada en goma de acacia, almidon, pectinas u otros materiales adecuados. Cuando la vitamina A es encapsulada, al nivel de tocoferol requerido en una composicion encapsulada de vitamina A, es menor, preferentemente de desde 0.05 : 1 hasta aproximadamente 1 : 1 partes de tocoferol a vitamina A. Se le pueden agregar otros antioxidantes.
