Abstract

PURPOSE: A specific amount of activated clay, activated carbon, alumina or silica is added to a phosphate ester as an adsorbent and they are heated under stirring to remove arsenic by adsorption, thus increasing safety and permitting it to be applied to cosmetics and detergents.
CONSTITUTION: A phosphate of organic hydroxy compound is combined with 0.05W10wt%, preferably 1W5wt%, of an adsorbent such as activated clay, activated carbon, alumina or silica gel and they are stirred, e.g., for 1W5hr to remove arsenic in the phosphate ester by adsorption.
