Abstract
Un aparato para moldear mitades de molde de poliestireno las cuales se utilizan, con las mitades de molde complementarias, para moldear subsiguientemente una lente de contacto blanda tal como una lente de contacto blanda, de hidrogel. El aparato está diseñado con capacidad de conduccion de calor superior, de tal manera que reduce al mínimo el tiempo de funcionamiento del moldeo, mientras que produce simultáneamente superficies de calidad optica uniformemente precisas y exactas. El poliestireno fundido es proporcionado por medio de un sistema de rodillo de rodadura con calor a una pluralidad de cavidades de molde, cada una de las cuales esta definida por primero y segundo elementos estructurales, el primero tiene una superficie convexa y el otro tiene una superficie concava. En una variacion específica, la superficie convexa proporciona la superficie de calidad optica para la superficie concava de la mitad de molde producida por ella. El elemento estructural el cual define la superficie convexa incluye un buje cilíndrico, hueco y un inserto de potencia removible montado en él, el cual puede ser cambiado, de tal manera que la fuerza de prescripcion de la lente de contacto que va a ser formada por el molde pueda variarse. En una primera modalidad, inserto de potencia incluye solamente una superficie convexa en su extremo operacional.
