Abstract
Se describe un motor eléctrico de flujo axial con estator abierto. El motor tiene un estator abierto con dos soportes aislantes espaciados (60, 61), con una ranura (62, 63) que se extiende desde una periferia de cada uno de los soportes (60, 61) a un sitio interior. Una pluralidad de polos 20-36) se extienden entre los soportes (60, 61) y se sujetan a ellos y el estator tiene ya sea un devanado distribuido o devanados de polo de fase saliente asociado con al menos algunos de los polos con una abertura entre polos adyacentes en las regiones de las ranuras (62, 63) en los soportes (60, 61). El motor tiene un rotor (64) con una flecha (69) que se extiende a través de las ranuras (62, 63) y en ángulos rectos respecto a los soportes (60, 61).
