Abstract

Un método para hacer un bloque de motor con paredes de perforacion de cilindro revestidas mediante: (a) moldear el bloque de motor de metal (principalmente una aleacion de aluminio de bajo costo, tal como grado 319), (b) eliminar los contaminantes de las paredes de perforacion de cilindro moldeado para proporcionar cuando menos una superficie de metal fresco, limpia, anular, (c) depositar un revestimiento rociado con plasma hacia la superficie con una mezcla de polvo que contiene partículas de lubricante solidas que proporcionan un coeficiente de friccion seco de 0.3 o menos, (d) configurar dicho revestimiento para que sea concéntrico alrededor del verdadero eje de las paredes de perforacion de cilindro y, (e) asentar el revestimiento a tersura de acabado final. Exponer el metal fresco (remocion de cualquier oxido de metal) que puede llevarse a cabo mediante chorreado de arena (granalla), erosion por descarga eléctrica, maquinado mecánico de indentaciones, o mediante grabado con plasma. La configuracion concéntrica puede llevarse a cabo ya sea mediante máquina en basto de las paredes de perforacion de cilindro seguido por deposicion del revestimiento más delgado que requiere solamente asentado de acabado, o mediante deposicion de un revestimiento más grueso seguido por asentado del revestimiento hasta concentricidad.
