Abstract
Los hidrocarburos pesados se hidrotratan para aumentar el contenido de los componentes que hierven a temperatura menor de 538°C mediante contacto con el óxido de metal no noble del Grupo VIII y el óxido de metal del Grupo VI-B en alúmina, que tiene un Area Superficial Total de 150 a 240 metros cuadrados por gramo, un Volumen de Poro Total, (TPV) de .7 a 0.98, y una Distribución de Diámetro de Poro mediante lo cual ¾ 20 por ciento del TPV está presente como microporos primarios de diámetro de ¾ 100 unidades angstrom, por lo menos aproximadamente 34 por ciento de TPV está presente como microporos secundarios de diámetro de aproximadamente 100 unidades angstrom a 200 unidades angstrom, y de aproximadamente 26 por ciento a 46 por ciento del TPV está presente como mesoporos de diámetro de 200 unidades angstrom.
