1501346 Hydrogenation of aromatic hydrocarbons GN MASLYANSKY B B ZHARKOV S A BARKAN G A M KAGANOVA L B GALPERIN N P MELNIKOVA and A P FEDOROV 6 May 1976 18580/76 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] Aromatic hydrocarbons are hydrogenated in the presence of a catalyst comprising a dealuminized alumina-silica support containing 1-25 wt. per cent alumina and 99-75 wt. per cent silica and 0À1-5 wt. per cent based on the weight of the support of a platinum group metal. The aromatic hydrocarbons may be hydrogenated in the presence of up to 0À5 wt. per cent of sulphur compounds. Examples describe the preparation of jet-fuel from kerosene fractions by hydrogenation at 300‹ or 320‹ C., 40 atm., space rate of 2À0 hr.<SP>-1</SP> and a H 2 /HC volume ratio of 400; of a lighthouse kerosene by hydrogenation of a kerosene fraction at 325‹ C., 50 atm., space rate of 2À0 hr.<SP>-1</SP> and a H 2 /HC volume ratio of 1600; and of an isomerization feedstock by hydrogenation of a light gasoline fraction at 320‹ C., 50 atm., space rate of 2À0 hr.<SP>-1</SP> and a H 2 /HC volume ratio of 1200.
