Abstract
Se ha encontrado que los compuestos que contienen estimulantes para el crecimiento de plantas, que aumentan el dióxido de carbono intracelular como el principal componente activo y que están opcionalmente suplementados con nutrientes específicos, mejoran la productividad de las plantas. Los compuestos ejemplares incluyen alcoholes inferiores tales como metanol, etanol, propanol y butanol y aminoácidos, tales como glicina, glutamato y aspartato. Esta estimulación del crecimiento parece ser resultado, en parte, de la inhibición de la fotorespiración inducida por tensión de conformidad con las trayectorias fotosintéticas antes no reconocidas. La exposición de las plantas a la luz solar u otra iluminación suficiente después del tratamiento con las composiciones, da por resultado una fijación mejorada del dióxido de carbono y turgor. Las composiciones estimulantes pueden comprender de 5 a 50 en volumen de soluciones acuosas de metanol o 0.1 a 10 en peso de aminoácidos y preferentemente se aplican mediante rociado foliar de las plantas y los retoños de plantas.
