Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a: un procedimiento para preparar bromuro o cloruro de 3,7-bis-(dimetilamino)-fenotiazin-5-io; un método para convertir el bromuro de 3,7-bis-(dimetilamino)-fenotiazin-5-io en cloruro de 3,7-bis-(dimetilamino)-fenotiazin-5-io; y la purificación del cloruro de 7-bis-(dimetilamino)-fenotiazin-5-io por cristalización a partir de una solución acuosa de ácido clorhídrico, lo que conduce a un cloruro de 3,7-bis-(dimetilamino)-fenotiazin-5-io farmacéuticamente aceptable (cloruro de metiltioninio, azul de metileno, MTC) de fórmula I a continuación.
