Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un polímero modificado que incluye una cadena polimérica basada en dieno y por lo menos un extremo terminado con un grupo isocianato bloqueado. El grupo isocianato bloqueado puede ser el producto de reacción de un isocianato y un agente de bloqueo, y el agente de bloqueo se selecciona de modo que el polímero modificado desbloquea a temperaturas de por lo menos 100°C. Se puede proporcionar una emulsión acuosa del polímero modificado que puede estar libre de tensioactivo. La emulsión se puede combinar con uno o más látex para proporcionar una solución de tratamiento para un tejido o fibra que no requiere el uso de resorcinol y formaldehído. Una vez tratada y secada, la tela o fibra se puede usar para impartir resistencia a la tensión a productos de caucho, tales como neumáticos, resortes de aire, acoplamientos flexibles, correas de transmisión de potencia, cintas transportadoras y mangueras de enrutamiento de fluidos.
