Abstract

Se divulgan las emulsiones híbridas de látex que pueden usarse en la formación de las composiciones de recubrimiento que tienen buena resistencia al cambio de color, resistencia a la abrasión, resistencia a la formación de burbujas, dureza y resistencia a la estriación. En algunas modalidades, las composiciones de recubrimiento se usan para recubrir los sustratos como latas y materiales de empaque para el almacenamiento de comida y de bebidas. Las emulsiones híbridas de látex de la invención pueden prepararse al mezclar un componente monomérico etilénicamente insaturado y un estabilizador en un portador para formar una emulsión monomérica, y al hacer reaccionar la emulsión monomérica con un iniciador para formar la emulsión híbrida de látex. El componente monomérico etilénicamente insaturado puede incluir un compuesto de organosilano, que puede incluir un grupo orgánico reactivo y un alcoxisilano inorgánico hidrolizable.
