Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un organismo bacteriano que no ocurre de manera natural que tiene una vía de ácido metacrílico, dicho organismo bacteriano comprende por lo menos un ácido nucleico exógeno que codifica una enzima de la vía de ácido metacrílico, expresada en una cantidad suficiente para producir el ácido metacrílico. El método puede incluir cultivar un microorganismo bacteriano productor de ácido metacrílico, bajo condiciones y durante un periodo suficiente de tiempo para producir ácido metacrílico.
