Abstract
La presente invención divulga un polipéptido de éster sintasa variante que comprende la SEQ ID NO: 2, caracterizado porque el polipéptido de éster sintasa variante se modifica genéticamente por ingeniería para tener una mutación en la posición de aminoácido 317, en donde la metionina inicial con base en el sitio de inicio ATG se numera como 0, y en donde el polipéptido de éster sintasa variante tiene una actividad de éster de metilo del ácido graso mejorada en comparación con un polipéptido tipo silvestre correspondiente. En una modalidad particular de la invención la mutación en la posición de aminoácido 317 es F317W.
