Abstract
En general se describen métodos y sistemas para elaborar ésteres dibásicos y/o ácidos dibásicos usando metátesis. En algunas modalidades, los métodos comprenden hacer reaccionar un éster de olefina terminal con un éster de olefina interna en la presencia de un catalizador de metátesis para formar un éster dibásico y/o ácido dibásico. En algunas modalidades, el éster de olefina terminal o el éster de olefina interna se derivan de una materia prima renovable, tal como una materia prima de aceite natural. En algunas de estas modalidades, la materia prima de aceite natural, o un derivado transesterificado de esta, se metatiza para elaborar el éster de olefina terminal o el éster de olefina interna.
