Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso caracterizado porque comprende: a) tratar una corriente de agua residual proveniente del proceso de producción de almidón hidroxilo-propilado, que tiene un alto contenido orgánico y sulfato de sodio, en un biorreactor de membrana, b) tratar la corriente del paso a) en un intercambio de iones catiónicos, c) tratar la corriente del paso b) en una unidad de nanofiltración para producir una corriente y un material retenido, d) tratar la corriente de agua residual en un sistema biológico aeróbico antes del paso a); en donde el contenido de sulfato de sodio de la corriente del paso c) se ha reducido a una concentración de menos de 235 mg/L; en donde la unidad de nanofiltración concentra el sulfato de solido en el material retenido de forma tal que el sulfato de sodio puede recuperarse del material retenido como sulfato de sodio decahidratado a una pureza superior al 99%; en donde el sulfato de sodio decahidratado es reciclado de vuelta al proceso de producción de almidón hidroxilo-propilado; y en donde la unidad de nanofiltración comprende un filtro de nanomembrana que tiene un corte de peso molecular entre 200 Daltons hasta 500 Daltons.
