Abstract
Se describe un proceso para convertir HMF en FDCA que comprende disolver una cantidad de HMF en agua para formar una solución acuosa que incluye HMF, combinar la solución acuosa que incluye HMF con una fuente de oxígeno en presencia de un catalizador de sal metálica homogéneo, pero en ausencia considerable de cualquier disolvente para el HMF y el catalizador de sal metálica homogéneo que no sea agua, y en condiciones que sean efectivas para oxidar el HMF en presencia del catalizador para formar FDCA, y luego recuperar un precipitado de FDCA.
