Abstract
Se proporciona una viga estructural para puertas de vehículos, y un método para fabricar la misma. La viga estructural para puertas tiene una estructura de canales múltiples alargados definidos por un alma central de espesor dado y composición conocida del material, con rebordes de montaje extremos formados integralmente con la misma. La estructura de canales múltiples alargados comprende dos canales externos separados uno del otro en una dirección lateral, y un tercer canal dispuesto entre los dos canales externos. El tercer canal define una cuenca dentro de la región media entre los dos canales externos. El primero de los dos canales externos se estira o embute a una cresta de altura conocida y la cuenca se estira o embute a una profundidad conocida, de modo tal que la distancia desde la cuenca a la cresta excede la distancia máxima que se puede obtener en una sola operación de formación o moldeado en frío para el espesor y la composición dados del material del alma.
