Abstract
Un proceso para calentar una materia prima de metal (31) alimentada en continuo a un horno de fundición (30) a través de una segunda sección de calentamiento horizontal (34) a través de la cual los humos de descarga calientes recolectados de dicho horno (30) pasan, dichos humos ejerciendo una fase de calentamiento de dicha materia prima (31), caracterizado porque, inmediatamente antes de ingresar a dicha segunda sección de calentamiento (34), la materia prima (31) se somete a una fase de precalentamiento por medios de calentamiento diferentes a los humos de descarga recolectados del horno de fundición (30) . En una planta para la modalidad de dicho proceso, dichos diferentes medios de calentamiento se contemplan dentro de una primera sección de precalentamiento (33), que se conecta operativamente con dicha segunda sección de calentamiento (34) por medio de una sección de evacuación de humos intermedia (35), los humos viniendo de dichas secciones (33) y (34) transportándose a dicha sección. Dichas secciones (33, 34) tienen preferentemente una configuración de túnel.
