Abstract
Un método para preparar un material refractario a partir de residuos de baterías de desecho. El método comprende las siguientes etapas: (1) desmontar baterías de desecho, luego clasificar las mismas para obtener polvos de electrodos positivos y negativos, lixiviar los polvos de electrodos positivos y negativos con un ácido, filtrar los mismos para obtener una escoria de grafito, y luego someter el filtrado a retirada de cobre, seguido de adición de un álcali para una reacción de precipitación, en el que el precipitado resultante es una escoria de hierro-aluminio; (2) envolver la escoria de grafito obtenida en la etapa (1) con arcilla húmeda para formar un material de núcleo interno, luego mezclar la arcilla húmeda con la escoria de hierro-aluminio, envolver el material de núcleo interno con la misma, y envejecer el material de núcleo interno envuelto para obtener una pieza en bruto; (3) presinterizar, calcinar y enfriar la pieza en bruto preparada en la etapa (2) para obtener un producto cocido; y (4) lavar y secar el producto cocido para obtener el material refractario. Por medio del presente método, pueden reciclarse adicionalmente los residuos de desecho generados durante el procedimiento de recuperación de baterías de desecho, impidiendo de ese modo que los mismos provoquen contaminación secundaria al medioambiente.
