Abstract
La descripción se refiere a una composición anticonceptiva vaginal que comprende uno o más ingredientes activos y un agente gelificante fisiológicamente aceptable, en donde al menos uno del uno o más ingredientes activos es un polímero mucoadhesivo, en donde dicho polímero mucoadhesivo tiene un peso molecular entre 20 000 Da y 100 000 Da, en donde dicho polímero mucoadhesivo consiste en una pluralidad de unidades monoméricas unidas entre sí a través de enlaces éter, enlaces éster, enlaces amida o sus combinaciones, en donde dichas unidades monoméricas se seleccionan de azúcares C6, azúcares C6 funcionalizados con amino, aminoácidos o sus combinaciones, y en donde al menos 50 % de las unidades monoméricas comprenden al menos un grupo amino. La descripción se refiere además al uso de una composición anticonceptiva vaginal, una composición anticonceptiva vaginal para el uso en terapia, una composición anticonceptiva vaginal para el uso como un anticonceptivo o agente anticonceptivo y una composición anticonceptiva vaginal para el uso en el control de la natalidad o la terapia de control de la natalidad.
