Abstract

Se proporciona una serie de composiciones aglutinantes insolubles a base de poliéster y éster vinílico para su uso con la fibra de vidrio. Estas composiciones están compuestas de resinas insaturadas reticulables usadas en conjunto con varios iniciadores azo. Las composiciones son capaces de curarse térmicamente; creando un aglutinante insoluble en el agua y en sustancias orgánicas que exhibe una buena adherencia al vidrio. Estos aglutinantes curados térmicamente son capaces de proporcionar una resistencia a la tracción de la fibra de vidrio semejante a las composiciones convencionales que contienen peróxido de dibenzoílo, mientras que exhiben una retención de blancura mejorada durante el transcurso del tiempo.
