Abstract

Un polímero de alcohol polivinílico injertado tiene un equilibrio entre hidrofilicidad e hidrofobicidad. El polímero de alcohol polivinílico injertado tiene una funcionalidad química que permite la adsorción sobre las fibras de pulpa, la formación de película polimérica al secarse, repeler el agua al humedecerse, expansión y rompimiento de la película polimérica por humedecimiento prolongado en agua. Cuando se incorpora a productos de papel, el polímero puede proporcionar un papel que tiene una resistencia a la humedad mejorada, una repelencia temporal al agua y/o se puede dispersar en soluciones acuosas.
