Abstract
Se describe un método para enfriar un proceso de polimerización. La reacción del dióxido de carbono con un epóxido en presencia de un catalizador de complejo metálico bimetálico para producir un polímero comprende la etapa de inactivación de la desactivación del catalizador poniendo en contacto el catalizador con un ácido eficaz para desactivar el catalizador. El catalizador desactivado puede removerse del producto polimérico poniendo en contacto el catalizador y el producto polimérico con una fase sólida y/o mediante precipitación; y el catalizador también se puede reactivar opcionalmente poniendo en contacto el catalizador desactivado con un anión. El ácido puede contener un anión efectivo para iniciar el proceso de polimerización y efectivo para desactivar el catalizador y la relación molar de ácido a catalizador en la etapa de desactivación puede ser menor o igual a 20:1 de la relación molar de ácido a catalizador para la reacción.
