Abstract
Se describen métodos para conformar una hoja de vidrio, que comprende los pasos de (i) proporcionar un soporte para la conformación para soportar la hoja de vidrio; (ii) calentar la hoja de vidrio a una temperatura para la conformación; (iii) colocar la hoja de vidrio en el soporte para la conformación; y (iv) conformar la hoja de vidrio en el soporte para la conformación, en donde durante el paso (iv), al menos una porción de la hoja de vidrio se enfría de manera deliberada. En las modalidades preferidas, el paso de conformación (iv) comprende doblar con una prensa una hoja de vidrio ablandada por el calor entre un soporte para la conformación inferior y un elemento de conformación superior, en donde durante el paso (iv), sólo una porción de la superficie principal de la hoja de vidrio orientada hacia el soporte para la conformación inferior se enfría dirigiendo uno o más chorros de aire a la porción. La hoja de vidrio conformado encuentra un uso particular en un vidrio laminado. También se describen los aparatos útiles para llevar a cabo el método para la conformación.
