Abstract
Las celdas electroquimicas, tal como aquellas presentes dentro de las baterias de flujo, pueden tener por lo menos un electrodo con un gradiente de densidad en donde la densidad incrementa hacia afuera del separador; dichos electrodos pueden disminuir la resistencia de contacto y reducir la incidencia de las reacciones parasitarias en la celda electroquimica; las baterias de flujo que contienen las celdas electroquimicas pueden incluir: una primera media celda que contiene un primer electrodo, una segunda media celda que contiene un segundo electrodo, y un separador dispuesto entre la primera media celda y la segunda media celda; por lo menos uno del primer electrodo y el segundo electrodo tiene un gradiente de densidad de manera que una densidad de por lo menos uno del primer electrodo y el segundo electrodo incrementa hacia afuera desde el separador.
