Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a animales no humanos y descendencia de los mismos que comprenden al menos una secuencia cromosómica modificada en un gen que codifica una proteína CD163. También se proporcionan células animales que contienen tales secuencias cromosómicas modificadas. Los animales y las células tienen una resistencia aumentada a los agentes patógenos, incluyendo el virus del síndrome respiratorio y reproductivo porcino (PRRSV). Los animales y la descendencia tienen modificaciones cromosómicas de un gen CD163.
