Abstract

La presente invención proporciona un copolímero que demuestra una resistencia térmica, fluidez, propiedades mecánicas, apariencia, baja absorbencia de agua y capacidad de moldeo superiores. Además, la presente invención proporciona un proceso para producir un copolímero que permite que el copolímero resultante demuestre una resistencia al calor, fluidez, propiedades mecánicas, apariencia, baja absorbencia de agua y capacidad de moldeo superiores. El copolímero de la presente invención es un copolímero que contiene 80% en mol o más de una unidad (A) de (met)acrilato de metilo, en donde la temperatura de ablandamiento Vicat es de 115°C o mayor, la tasa de absorción de agua saturada a 60°C es de 4% en peso o menos y su índice amarillo es de 1 o menos. Además, el proceso para producir un copolímero de la presente invención comprende la obtención de un precursor mediante polimerización en suspensión de una mezcla de monómeros que contiene 80% en mol o más de (met)acrilato de metilo (a) y de 0.7% en mol a 7% en mol de ácido (met)acrílico (b), seguido por fusión y amasado del precursor resultante con una extrusora para obtener un copolímero que contiene 80% en mol o más de una unidad (A) de (met)acrilato de metilo, de 0.45% en mol a 7% en mol de una unidad (B) de ácido (met)acrílico y de 0.001% en mol a 0.25% en mol de una unidad (C) de anhídrido glutárico.
