Abstract

Se describen catalizadores de amina terciaria que tienen grupos reactivos de isocianato que son capaces de formar enlaces covalentes térmicamente estables capaces de soportar temperaturas de hasta 120°C. Estos catalizadores se pueden utilizar para producir espuma de poliuretano que tiene las siguientes características deseables a) emisiones químicas muy bajas sobre un amplio intervalo de condiciones ambientales e índices de isocianato (por ejemplo, índices tan bajos como 65 pero mayores que 60) mientras que cumplen todos los requisitos de propiedad física; b) suficiente estabilidad hidrolítica para mantener el catalizador covalentemente enlazado a la espuma sin lixiviación del catalizador de amina terciaria cuando la espuma se expone al agua o soluciones acuosas a unas temperaturas más altas que la ambiental (por ejemplo, intervalo de temperatura de 25oC 90oC); y c) interfase de contacto estable entre el polímero de poliuretano y otros polímeros (por ejemplo policarbonato) con migración mínima del catalizador de amina terciaria del polímero de poliuretano a otros polímeros que no producen un deterioro de polímero no notable en el punto de contacto aún bajo condiciones de calor y humedad.
