Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para exponer un sustrato al agua a presión superior a la atmosférica a una temperatura de al menos 70°C que incluye (a) aplicar una mezcla de reacción a un sustrato, la mezcla de reacción tiene un índice de isocianato de al menos 10 e incluye un componente de poliisocianato aromático, un componente de poliol que tiene un poliol con un peso equivalente de hidroxilo de al menos 500, y un componente de catalizador que tiene un catalizador de trimerización de isocianato, y curar al menos parcialmente la mezcla de reacción para formar un polímero de poliisocianurato o poliuretano-isocianurato que tiene una temperatura de transición vítrea de al menos 80°C, y (b) exponer el sustrato y el polímero de poliisocianurato o poliuretano-isocianurato al agua bajo presión superior a la atmosférica a una temperatura de al menos 70°C.
